Crystal's Notes
Personal thoughts, observations, and hard-won wisdom from years of raising French Bulldogs.
On Choosing a Breeding Pair
"I always start with health first. I want to see panel clears, great structure, and a temperament that I personally love to be around. Color is secondary. If I wouldn't keep the puppy myself, I don't produce it."
On Neonatal Care
"The first 72 hours are everything. Temperature, nursing, weight — I check on our newborns constantly. The Puppy Safe incubator changed my program because it gave me a reliable environment to support fragile newborns."
On Health Testing
"Every single dog in our program is DNA health tested. I won't use a dog I can't see results for. Period. The clients who trust us with their families deserve dogs that were bred with intention."
On Temperament
"People always ask me about color, and I get it — rare colors are beautiful. But the dog that changes your life is the one with the right temperament. I socialize every litter daily from day 3. It makes a real difference."
On Saying No
"Sometimes I have to say no to a buyer, and that's OK. I'd rather keep a puppy than send them somewhere that isn't the right fit. My puppies are family members, not transactions."
